Los Tres Mezcal
Los Tres Mezcal is a start-up brand of mezcal, traditionally produced in southern parts of Mexico. Mezcal is a distilled alcoholic beverage made from the agave plant. Making mezcal involves harvesting the agave plant, roasting the hearts (piñas) in an underground pit oven, crushing and shredding the piñas to extract the juice, fermenting the juice, and finally distilling the fermented liquid to produce mezcal. Los Tres Mezcal prides itself in the traditional mezcal-making process dating back centuries.
Los Tres Mezcal represents the three most popular agave plants used to produce mezcal, Espadín, Tobalá and Tepeztate. They wanted this aspect integrated into the logo by adding the brand to represent quality in its taste. We looked at existing mezcal brands for inspiration such as, Dos Hombres and Del Maguey mezcal. Ultimately deciding on an emblem logo that could represent tradition is one of the critical factors of the brand. The touch of gold, black, and silver also gave it the quality look we were searching for.
In addition to the logo design, we also worked on a bottle label for one of the main agaves, Espadín, and thought of potential ways to advertise Los Tres Mezcal. We began our process by researching the alcohol regulations for advertising and marketing. With this in mind, we considered the tagline, “Taste El Sabor de México.” Below are mockups with three different applications in which El Tres Mezcal could be advertised.
